Not a vacuum leak

Hello everyone. I have a 2003 GMC Safari that won't blow onto the windshield. No defrost. All the zones seem to be changing properly but when swithched to defrost no air moves by the windshield.
I've gone as far as to remove the cover from the blend door and make sure it's closing/sealing and all seems well.
what am I missing??

I would be looking at the defrost and mode doors, linkages, and actuators.

I'm also curious as to the answer. I have the notorious going away problem. Good airflow at vents in cruise and decelleration, but loss of airflow on hills & acceleration. three replacement vacuum valves at the firewall even added a extra check valve justa after the new "tee" valve. Still no change. Replaced lines going thru firewall, no change. Where is the actuator controlling the airflow?

I don't know too much about that center windshield air vent, but I would first look into whether there's a hose connection or something loose. There's no setting that allows for the side defroster vents to blow without the windshield vent also blowing, so there must be a problem that's allowing air only to the sides and not to the center.

I would check the vacuum tank reservoir ball thing. whether it's cracked or the hose going to it is damaged could cause those symptoms. Under heavy load the engine produces less vacuum, the the reservoir is suppose to keep those HVAC functions working properly.

What is that ball thing called? I foolishly deleted it when I did my v8 swap and I have been trying to find a new one but seem to be striking out with names I would think it would be.
