i just happen to be passing by, and can only tell you I recently had to make the same inquiry. waiting for an answer, I'd researched. stop-leak seems to be commonly advised against, apparently it can be bad for seals and such.

my compressor has leaked down, all the way, I know it's the compressor because there's old green dye all over it. since it was blowing good and cold before, I've opted to wait and get a new compressor & orifice. everything else still being good, I didn't want to risk causing damage where there is none.

that said, since I didn't wait for an answer before, I'll watch this thread and see what folks here have to say.
