Heater Hose Replacement

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I have a 1995 Astro. One of the heater hoses--the one of the metal tubing in it-- that connects from the top of the water pump to the heater core is leaking and needs replacement. It is leaking in the rubber right very near the water pump and just before the metal tubing, so cutting out the leaky part just stretching is not an option.

This hose seems to have a unique shape. I would like to think there are options out there rather than going to the dealer and spending a lot of money getting an OEM. Can anyone suggest some ideas? Thanks.

Unfortunately you need that metal tubing to give it support and prevent the hose from collapsing when it's in operation. Your local auto parts store should have it. Ask for AC Delco-Gates-Dayco-Dorman for replacement hoses, they should come up with something.

Interesting finding this beast locally. None of the typical (and many) auto parts stores in town had this part. None of the GM dealers in town had that part. According to one of them, there was one available out of state in a dealership somewhere for $60. I got the correct GM part number and was lucky to find one on Ebay--$40 including shipping.

Received the new hose and installed today without taking much apart. Finally a job that went well without much hassle.
