Heat @ High RPM (97 ASTRO 2WD VIN W)

Heat @ High RPM (97 ASTRO 2WD VIN W)

Postby herbal_gardens [OP] » March 25th 2008, 3:02am

Ok Ive changed the thermostat & water pump and still only get heat at high rpm, theres not alot left except for the heater core (unless anyone elts has an idea) but I am not leaking any fluid so I was thinking of trying a flush. Ive never done a flush before, has anyone elts? Its gotta be easier than changing the core. (Also dont know if this is normal but the new thermostat is a 195, yet the temp gauge says its not opening til 210 is this normal?) :banghead:

The temp sounds normal.
Try flushing the heater core in both directions. It may be plugged, reducing heat output.
