Vacuum Tank 1991 astro

Vacuum Tank 1991 astro

Postby griff714 [OP] » May 14th 2010, 3:55am

Does anyone know where the vacuum tank for feeding the heater/AC switch is on a 1991 Astro V6?
I have a service manual but all it says is cowl. Would this be behind the wiper blades?
It's hard to see there are so many wires and vacuum lines.
Thanks

Thanks chevy57bert but it's not there. That's where my windshield washer and radiator overflow are and it's not behind them or on the other fender.
I can't find the vacuum source from the engine either. I can see where the PVC gets vacuum. It should be at the base of the throttle body or on top of the intake manifold. Right?
I don't have any vacuum going to my heater/AC switch that's why I'm looking for the source or the vacuum can.
Thanks

Thanks chevy57bert at least I know what it looks like. I didn't see anything like that on the engine side but I think it might be behind the main heater plenum coming in from the blower motor. I can see the edge of a couple flying saucer shaped thing I guess are the vent door actuators.
Thanks again

This pic is for an 89, but it should be similar to your van. The tank is located between the passenger side inner-fender and the engine, just behind the bumper area...

It's sits below the coolant reservoir, about 4 inches above the sub frame.

If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem!
