Help needed with the Acronym Guide

Help needed with the Acronym Guide

Postby AstroAustin [OP] » December 3rd 2008, 6:41pm

To assist users seeking help with their vehicle I've decided to begin development on an Acronym Guide.
A permanent link will be created to the guide once I feel it contains enough content. For now.... could everyone please help me create by contributing some Astro/Safari related acroymns.

Please keep them Astro/Safari related. We will create another list for LOL, BRB, WTF, ROFLMAO kinda stuff in the future if we see fit but for now lets just focus on the more important ones, van related.

Postby AstroAustin [OP] » December 3rd 2008, 6:45pm

I've started the list off with the first few that come to my mind:

FSM
Factory Service Manual

TBI
Throttle Body Injection

EGR
Exhaust Gas Recirculation

AWD
All Wheel Drive

RWD
Rear Wheel Drive

Please feel free to reply with more and I'll get them added.

Here are a couple:

NSS - Neutral Safety Switch

RPO - Regular Production Option

VIN - Vehicle Identifcation Number
'02 Astro LT AWD - 200Km - New find (2017) a great deal once I fix the electrical ghost(s) in it.
'98 Safari SLX RWD - 350Km - Old find (2008) runs like a top but rockers & fenders are rusty.

@astro355: Yes I'm familiar with that acronym list. What I would like to do come up with one of our own.
  • One that is tailored to our site.
  • A list that only pertains to Astro/Safari vans.
  • A list that can actually be very useful for members who aren't familiar with the common acronyms that we use around here.
  • Acronyms that relate to the stock components of a factory Astro or Safari van.

Could you help me sort through that list and pick out acronyms that fit that criteria? I'm pretty sure nobody here is greatly concerned about the FWD, MAMA, etc. acronyms. I knew this list could potentially get out of control length-wise that is why I'm trying to be a remain discriminatory. Ya know what I mean? Am I way out of line here?
