New Group: Armed Forces Veteran

New Group: Armed Forces Veteran

Postby AstroAustin [OP] » January 7th 2010, 9:41pm

:flags-waveusa: Ladies and gents,

A new group has been created to recognize a select group of individuals, our own U.S Veterans. This is an open group, members can apply to join and we will take members at their word when adding them to this group. (Please don't send me your DD Form 214)

Armed Forces Veteran
Image

Requirements to join:
Any serviceman or woman who has seen active service in the United States Armed Forces. Any person who has served on active duty in the Armed Forces and was discharged or released there from under conditions other than dishonorable: Air Force, Army, Marines, National Guard, Navy, Reserves, etc.

If you fit this criteria please allow us to honor you by going to "Usergroups" in your User Control Panel and joining the group. :flags-usa:

Through the feel of war they brave this day
How proud they stand, their unselfish way

Our soldiers bear what we cannot see
They assure our right to live life free

Each trained will face an unknown fate
Our support they need, don’t hesitate

Just imagine how this land would be
Without their courage - catastrophe

All the liberties we have grown to know
Would not exist, this life would go

Find a thankfulness within your mind
Speak gratitude for our bravest kind

Have the willingness to show you care
For fallen heroes, hold back no tear

Reach out to God with his guiding light
For our troops do pray, both day and night

America raise your flags to wave
For we truly are 'home of the brave'

Wow, no air force or reserves. That's kind of rough.

I didn't think it was necessary to list each one since "Armed Forces" is pretty all-encompassing. Nevertheless, I fixed the first post to include Air Force and Reserves. (*In alphabetical order to avoid sparking a heated discussion on why AstroAustin supports one branch over the other.)

I wasn't trying imply that. I just noticed that when you listed them off, that you forgot the air force and reserves. I guess I'm still sad since I served in the reserves but never did active duty.

Cool group.
When I did the test to join the Swedish army some 30+ years ago, I got a very good result and would become an officer. After two days testing they said: Mr.Munk, It is safer for Sweden and our troops that you stay at home. You are too lethal, You solved the problem but with high risk.

Honor to all of you defending your country.

It was the only thing they told me.
I just thought, okay, thats bad. After a while I thought about what was wrong. So I tried to get hold of any documents about me from the army to get answers. But there is no. I think it's weird, I can get hold of almost all Goverment documents about me, but not that. Here in Sweden we have the Home Guard, it´s like a volunteer military group. I can not join them either. I think I am normal, but I do not know how their assessment is.
