if you own another vehicle that is totally neglected you may be an Astroholic, If you know part numbers to these vans better then the nappa guy you may be an Astroholic, if its always someone elses fault when the van is broken then you may be an Astroholic.
If all the parts stores & hardware stores for 100 miles around recognize you as the Astro guy You Are an Astroholic!

You may be an Astroholic if you think the breed has died since the last Astro was built (all the remaining choices lack a proper drivetrain)

If they bring it back, it needs a real frame, a beefier rear axle, room for wider wheels and wider tires, LS-based aluminum block 6.2L and iron block 4.8L ( for turbocharging ) V8 options, and a proper transfer case option, and maybe a high pinion Dana 30 option.

I was clean and free from this terrible disease for many years, I was 3 years sober, but I have recently caved into the harsh temptations once again. I will be beginning Astroholic classes very soon to help me thought this. Thank you all for the love and support through this difficult time. Life won't be the same with the van involved.

Do you want your van first thing in the morning? Coffee- van- wife- cats- world.
Does your van cause you to have difficulty in sleeping? Yes, with delusions of upgrades.
Has your efficiency decreased since your van came into your life? Quite the opposite
Is your van jeopardizing your job or business? Not yet...

Re: Astroholics Anonymous - 20 Questions

I think that I'm starting to have a problem.
I spent the better part of the day in the E R with a loved one.

I kept seeing tubing, squeeze ball pumps, containers for sucking fluids up/out with a vacuum, and one gadget had a plug that looked like an OBD 2 connection.
I fear I'm slipping into Astroholism.

I bought a good van but I still look at Craigs for one with lower miles.

Good grief... I've been a Explorer-holic, 3G Eclipse-oholic, Harley-holic (still struggling with that one haha), and a few others.. and now I find out about Astroholics...

They didn't tell me it was addictive before they wrote the Astro prescription, and I already took the astropill dangit.

Leeann told me it's time

If you've ever cheated on your Astro only to sell the car out of guilt

If you've ever bought another type of van but kept looking at Astro's

If you've ever sold your Astro to get clean but fell off the wagon years later and bought an Astro

If your cupboard is empty but there are new rims on your Astro

If your living room has more Astro parts than furniture

If there are Astro parts in your bedroom

If you have your hands deep inside the engine bay and feel a Chub

If you reach out to caress your Astro when walking by

If you look out the window to check on your Astro before going to bed

If the other side of your bed is empty but you have an Astro

If your friends give you a blank stare when they ask "what are you building now" and you answer "An Astro Van"

If you have joined a support group that Enables your Addiction instead of convincing you to Get Clean

NOOOO I will never admit to having a problem...I do however admit to being an Astroholic. HELL YA.. how could preserving the past be considered a problem ?

Naw the problem as I see it lies squarely to blame with the Supreme Being (GM) sacrificing product quality for profit and longevity for new SUV sales thereby fostered our obsession with replacing their defective parts...

The Supreme Being teased us with a Mini-Van superior to it's counterparts in every way, yet they designed into all it's components a timed obsolescence, and then.... adding insult to injury they discontinued it :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

NO Brothers and Sisters we do not have a problem WE are fixing the problem...And In Conclusion I say Go Forth and Prosper...and shop online

Minivan???
No, midsized maybe. They are according to GM an "M" series but what that means I don't know. I can tell you my '69 G-10 has a 95 -96" wheelbase that is 10" shorter than my '93 shorty safari,,,
