Thought I'd join up after lurking for quite a while. Got myself a '95 extended AWD teal green Astro that I inherited when my dad passed away. It currently has 318+k on the clock and both sheet metal and frame are rapidly disappearing literally by the handfuls every time I hit a bump in the road.
Just picked up a '03 AWD tan Astro that lived all but the last year in Virginia. 88k on the clock, new brakes, not a single blemish on the sheet metal, minimal surface rust (gas filler door) and I have a friend with a body shop. The first order of business after the DMV was a trip to Ziebart to get a fighting chance applied against Wisconsin road salt. The van has a couple of leaks and drips that need attention come springtime but otherwise needs nothing (for now). Hoping this one comes close to the old van for reliability and longevity.
