Hey guys I am a new member from Detroit Michigan now residing in Port Huron and have had 3 chevy astros, a 90 and 2 95's. I had the 90 about 11 years ago it was an american road conversion with 10 inch wide keystone classics wrappped in goodyear wingfoots and goodyear 60 series bias ply slicks out back, 350 4-bolt main w/ 305 heads and a holley 4bbl 750 single feed on a stock cast intake. The stock 4.3 had a 1/4 million on it before i pulled it Sorry no pics of that one.

3 years ago i bought a 95 cs with 160k from my boss at the last car lot I worked at for 6 hundred and now have a silver 95 conversion i payed 1200 with 140k and need to take pics of these now. Only have a few mods 08 JVC cd/mp3 stereo 2 12" kicker comps with rockford fosgate 600 watt punch amp, 2 6" JBL 2 way powered by pioneer 300 watt and a cold air intake and 373 locker. coming soon custom box and amp rack and re-dye and re-cover of "Purple" interior and a respray and rust repairs.

Hi, just joined forum. Have been looking at this forum for a month or so as a guest. I love the site cause it's just for astro and safari vans. Plenty of great info the read up on. I have 2 gmc safari vans. My first is a 91 gmc safari 2wd and just bought a 2000 gmc safari awd. Both are great driving and dependable vans, my friend has 2 of these vans also. He's got a 93 safari 2wd and a 94 astro extended 2wd , we both love our vans and enjoy going to junkyards for lots of extra parts that we are stocking up on cause we plan on keeping them a long time.

Went to a local Dealership and had a new key made in minutes, the new Dealer cut key also fixed a issue I was having with the ignition switch, it wanted to stick when trying to start the engine :)

This is a great site :icon-mrgreen:

Hi kids! JK... I'm new here and thought I would try and follow the rules.

I'm Joe, I have a 2003 Astro AWD. I purchased it in the spring of '04 up n the twin cities, it was a Florida rental and has served me well over the years.
I've replaced the front wheel bearings and the rear struts and the brakes a couple of times. It's got about 109,000 on her and still runs pretty good. I don't have any pics of her on this computer but if I really have to I can get some loaded up in the future. That's not a priority for me. Now if you want to see my sportster ... jk.

I've got questions and hopefully some answers as well.

Stay safe!

Thanks to all for creating a place for us & our Love\Hate relationships with these vans that have become members of our families. I have certainly been on this site before and felt that is was only fair to join in to share some of my interesting problems and solutions for the safari beast that lives just steps out of the front door. Not leaving any one out you guys have certainly helped me on more than one occasion from me having this same type of van. I want to say a great big thanks.  :bouncy:

Hello, I am new to this site and will add some pictures I thought some were on my computer already but they aren't. In due time I will add some, only a standard looking van for the most part anyways.

I have a 1996 GMC Safari van, owned just about 6 months. I had a 97 Astro before this van for a couple of years and I still have it, thinking I can steal some of the parts off of it to use on my GMC.

Hope to learn some cool tips/tricks/ideas!

Hello all. I have been a frequent visitor to this site for a while but finally became a member. I was having issues with signing up for some reason, but look forward to being part of this amazing forum. I have already used its many 'stro related information to great measures. I have owned 4 of these style vans over the years and I am obviously a fan of them. I lived in Wyoming for years and in the land of big 4x4 trucks I was something of an eccentric in their eyes. All I have to say is my old $1,200 1992 AWD climbed White Mountain in Rock Springs with no problems in the month of March with sloppy conditions. This is a testimonial to the respect I have for their design. Like all vehicles there are engineering flaws and quirks but that's life. Thank goodness for the Internet and I look forward to being part of your group.

Then I guess "Gidday Y'all" would be appropriate?

That's green indeed. But the body and top look to be in good shape. Any pics of the interior? Is it built out for camping?
