took me about a year to find my van, a 2000 Chevy Astro LS AWD w-engine. been sitting in my driveway for about 3 months since i got it home. didn't need to, but i have my father doing the work so its a bit slow.
i got it with a bad trans and a rough running motor. 168k. went way out in the middle of nowhere to look at it in the dark, and it looked alright so i bought it. towed it home with a 97 Bravada and a tow dolly. this Astro is just about the limit for each in weight, good thing it fit

body is almost perfect, except for a bit of rust below the driver's door. the body kit isn't looking too well either, i think i need to pull it off and clean up under there, maybe get some new brackets for it? factory original i believe... interior is excellent too.
engine had a bent valve on the right rear cylinder. got it apart, cleaned up everything, bought a new valve, both head gaskets and intake gasket replaced, and a new water pump (to be safe). waited a week while we fooled with the tranny. ended up taking the one out of my dad's Blazer (broke the "shell" in the very back end) and fixing that, put it up in there, started it up for the 3rd time since buying it, and.... it lives! runs very well actually, did a couple circles in my back yard and i very much like feel of the van. glad i waited so long for one! can't wait to get it on the road

now for pics... its gonna take me a bit to get some up, but i got lots!
here is one for now:
