Hey all,
I am a proud owner of a 1997 GMC Safari (Truck).
I love the van but I wish I owned an AWD.
But then again I have seen some of the 4x4 Safari/Astros and I love them.
I have done some research on why it says Truck on it and came up with this..NOTHING..LOL
I tell people that I have a Safari Truck Van and I get the blank look in the eyes.They say that someone put a sticker on it that says Truck.Hahahaha.That tells me how much they know.As much as I do Nothing..
I have changed my fuel pump,Rotors and also cleaned the EGR.
I also noticed that in the manual it shows that the EGR is under the dog house.Mine is up front as I oen the hood.I am happy that all manuals show this...NOT...

Gm started using the "GMC TRUCK" badges sometime in the 80's and continued for quite a number of years - used 'em on all GMC products including Safaris, big vans, and the Diablo (El Camino)... Maybe they thought their image was getting soft?
