Hello from Bonita Springs FL. I previously have owned two 87 Astros, one cargo and one conversion. After racking up 250k mostly troublefree mi on the cargo, I bought the conversion. 3 years ago when gas went up to $4 a gallon and the AC went out on it I bought a well used Ford Ranger 2.3L/5speed, which has also served well as a cheap reliable vehicle, but I missed having an Astro and started looking a month ago. So last friday I found and purchased a creampuff 94 with the Explorer conversion Pkg. It's a white one, perfect for Florida, and looks practically new inside/outside. 122k, 4.3 Z engine, auto, 3.42 open rear, dual A/C, runs great. I'm tickled with finding it. Needs stereo replaced, heater control valve has small leak, brakes done, shocks, etc. which I'll be doing soon.
I have found much useful info on these boards in the past and appreciate the work you all have done sharing info. I hadn't joined until now. I'm hoping to find some nice wheels, LT leather or vinyl seats, and other items. Anybody interested in a blue velour captains seats and electric fold down bench/bed pm me. My first Astro I called the white rat, my second the striped rat, and this one will probably be the white striped rat, but it's way too pretty right now! Happy Motoring! posting.php?mode=post&f=4#
