Howdy y'all!

Postby SpiffyGT [OP] » February 17th 2010, 5:32pm

Hello everyone! Heres my :2: Names Jared, and im from Spokane WA. Im new to the site, but not new to Astro's, lol. I've had two of them in the past, a 91 Cargo and a 92 loaded pass, and regret ever letting either one go. Currently, I'm in the market for another, so if anyone knows of one in Washington, lemme know :-) Been checking around town, but most of what I've found is just CRAP. But soon enough I'll find one, and when I do, I'll be comin here first. Unfortunately, I dont have any pics of my previous vans, not on hand anyways. I'll try to track some down and post 'em up. Looking forward to making some new friendships here. I also belong to a Chevy Beretta forum, bstuff.com, and we have a meet planned for sometime this spring. Why haven't I seen any kind of meetup info here? I'm new, but GDAMN down for a roadtrip (when my van magically appears, lol). :swerve:

So far, this is the 'one'

http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/1599715609.html

Looked at it this morning. Didn't have time to drive it, but it fired up and idles well. Good throttle response. Unfortunately, $2k is all I really have to work with. There are a lot of much nicer and newer rigs in town, but all out of my range. Besides, I like prefer the 'wedge' style anyways

And another question... my current work rig is a... yeah.. gimme some ****...... a 94 Aerostar :dunce: Its actually been a great rig for me, never left me stranded, always got me back home. But I HAVE gotten her up to 264,530 miles... I don't suppose I still qualify for the 1/4 million club do I?

Welcome!

Does look like a sweet, clean Astro, but I'd try to talk him down a little. I think $2k is a bit steep for a '94, personally.

I would have to agree you should be able to find a newer Van with the same amount of miles for about that price or a touch more, but talk them down. :blah:

unfortunately he's pretty solid on the price.
been checking as far away as Cali for a decent ride, and this is the best. he's just trying tomake his money back. he's the second owner, but has had it only a year. BUT I still have a few days to go before my tax return arrives, maybe a nicer one will pop up :-)

One thing that my dad used to say was that nobody sells a truck or a van that is in good shape because they are just too valuable to let go. And with the exception of a few rare cases, I've found this to be true. The last 5 vans that I've owned have either had a major mechanical problem or it had so many little problems that it became a burden for the previous owner.

So I can understand how finding that cream-puff is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I wish you the best but I think it would be more realistic to find a van that either #1, has a clean body and in need of an engine, trans, or front end work, or #2, a good running van that you can piece together with parts from something that was totaled.

I'm curious to know how many miles are on it.... most vans of that year are around 6 grand over here, even with high miles... and there is only one pic of the interior...
but the van i showed you guys, the tan one, has only 134k on it! That's what gets me turned on. It doesn't leak a drop, the suspension is good all around... but I have yet to drive it. So I'll have a more full understanding of the vehicle when I do. Where is that park n sell lot? here in Spokane?
