Best price on QUALITY front end parts?

Best price on QUALITY front end parts?

Postby beazleybub [OP] » May 7th 2012, 2:43am

I'm in the middle of a complete tear down on my Astro's front suspension and priced all the parts at Advance Auto. Needless to say before taxes I got $804.77! Anybody have some suggestions where I can get quality parts for a reasonable price?
I priced MOOG but am willing to compromise a bit but not on critical safety parts. My wife will be driving this van.

You can either:

Google "advance auto promo codes" and try some of these options to save $

http://www.retailmenot.com/view/advanceautoparts.com

The P20 code is always a good one to save 20% or try inputting other codes to see what gives you the best savings.

or

http://www.rockauto.com/ with dscount code listed in the Vendors Row forum on this site https://www.astrosafari.com/viewforum.php?f=109

or

http://www.amazon.com

are probably the best options for saving money. I spend quite a bit of time researching prices/discounts on items before purchasing to get the best deal possible from decent and reputable sources which allows me to do even more maintenance and upgrades with quality components.

I don't see you saving much money over that price for top notch parts, those prices look about the same as far as the parts I recently replaced on mine.

As a matter of principle I will gladly pay more for a part on rock Auto than I would at any brick and mortar store. Rock auto gives you outstanding deals on shipping as well as parts. They ship super fast, there customer service is first class. I love them, and have been buying for years. Remember to use the discount code.....

Places like Advanced make it with the must have the parts now people.

and of course commercial accounts ...

On a side note, i would replace the bushings that hold the sway bar to the frame as well.

I bought raybestos because Moog was to expensive. They worked for what I needed, maybe I would buy them again. They were a step above total crap.

I just dropped 400 bucks into my front end. I got the kyb heavy duty shocks for the front. The ones i put on the rear are wonderful.

Bit the bullet buy the moog, your wife is driving it- only the best for her!

If I purchased my parts from multiple vendors the shipping would quickly outweigh the parts.
I just saved over $300 using Rock Auto :)

I know, I ordered my front end parts from Rock Auto last year. I just showed both prices to give you an idea on the difference as it can still be cheaper overall to order them from either Amazon or Rock Auto. If you have an Amazon Prime membership ($79 / year) many of those items are eligible for free two day shipping or free super saver shipping.

Rock Auto code is here: https://www.astrosafari.com/viewforum.php?f=109

I'll second, or third that I've had great results with Rock Auto and more than a few mishaps with Amazon recently not to mention the parts can come from many different vendors/sources when purchasing from Amazon.

Just placed my order with Rock Auto. They had everything on the list minus one K6141 BJ (they only had one in stock) and the shocks. Total was 444.84 with shipping. Not bad at all.

Funny, I goofed on the Advance auto total cost.

It actually came to 804.77 before taxes. (fixed the post)

I have to call Rock Auto in the morning. The shopping cart said they only had one K6141 BJ in stock but when I double checked it changed to being in stock. I think the price changed or something. When I placed my order the K6141 came to 15.23 but now if you go to Rock Auto it says 28.79. I must have gotten the last of a sale price or something. I need to call them before they process the order and have them add the other Ball Joint to the order.

Anyhow, I saved some serious coin. :character-beavisbutthead:
