Sometimes you can get a great deal on Ebay. I've purchased for as little as 1.00 plus shipping, but it's all about right place right time. So if you have time to wait, that could be the way to go.I suggest a good shock. KYB is a good one. A cheap shock may not last as long and in the end need to be replaced more often. Try www.frugalmechanic.com. Hope this helps
ragenme If you can't fix it with a hammer then its probably a electrical problem!

What's cheap to you? $20 a shock, 50? I bought a set of Gabriel Max controls for my van recently, another member here has them and we are both happy with their performance. They run in the 50 dollar range though. All depends on what you expect out of the shock. Personally, if you have a 2wd van, I'd get the best shock I can afford, because that's a job I don't want to do twice.
A temporary fix usually becomes a permanent solution, therefore it does not exist.
