rear leaf

rear leaf

hello people of the van; You know that pc of formed rubber that protrudes out pointing down from the rear leaf on a 94 Asrto. It's like part of the brace of the leaf. Mine just rotted off. What do you think it's function is?

That acts as a bushing. Absorbs a little bit of vibration from the axle from transferring to the spring. Also stops the metal on metal squeak.
