starter problems

Postby markmitch [OP] » June 18th 2015, 1:46am

OK SO I have built a few V8 Astro's and never had this problem, for some reason a V8 full size starter will not fit into the frame area on my Astro. Yet I have used these starters in previous Astro's I ordered a new V8 starter first and it would not fit then I just recently I ordered a brand new starter for an 89 Astro with 4.3 and its the same sized starter which won't fit. So where can I get a 4.3 mini starter?

Update: the starter I bought from ebay is still under warranty so I contacted them and should have a replacement soon. I will update again once I know whats going on with it. If anyone has a need for a stock brand new 350 starter I have one for sale I bought it for my 89 Astro but due to my home made motor mounts it will not fit. I paid 58.00 dollars from rockauto and will sell it for 40+ shipping or possible trade for whatever you may have to trade.

You're a big guy, have you thought about installing a crank handle on the harmonic balancer.
