Curious to know if anyone here has tried taking the subframe AND vortec motor from a 2nd gen AWD and swapped it into a 1st gen RWD and what issues that were encountered with the fitment.
If you're wondering why someone would want to do this... its because I'm looking at different options for converting a 1990 RWD Astro Tiger into a 4x4. I saw a 1989 converted to a 4x4 with a 2nd ten subframe, apparently the bolt pattern is the same, but the bumper mount is different. Since it was also a v8 mod there was obviously a lot of fabrication work to make everything under the hood fit. Hoping that the Vortex goes right in without (or minimal) fabrication work to fit the radiatior, etc...
