'99 Astro - Changed ICM and Coil...and lost mounting stud...

Postby dpskeyz [OP] » July 15th 2017, 7:50am

I have a '99 Astro and recently changed my coil and ICM and lost a 'bolt' to the depths of the engine compartment. I spent over and hour looking for it. Anyways...

The bracket those parts are bolted to (originally riveted in the case of the coil) attaches to the engine via some double ended 10mm bolts (studs?). Of the two 'bolts' for the coil bracket to engine, I lost the one towards the front of the engine, which also helps mount (what I will call...) the throttle cable bracket. (I disregard any nuts in this procedure...I still have those!)

After doing a few hours of Googling I am at a loss and call upon this amazing community for an answer. Long time lurker, first time caller, lol.

Anyone know the part number?

Wow. Thank you for the quick reply! Of all the diagrams I sifted thru I never came across that one. Had the answer, plain as day! Much obliged.

$22.50, I would grab a couple from the junk yard for that price.

Make a list, I'm sure that there are a few other odds and ends that you can grab while at the yard as well. :)

That $22.50 is for a pack of 10. Might be one of the few things that is almost affordable from a dealership.

I hear that, however, probably won't ever need more than 1 in your life ;)

Yup bone yard is the best place! I go to the local Junk yard( used auto parts) and shop often the one here has 1/2 price on Sunday. Grab a wheel borrow and head in with your hand full of tools. They do charge two dollars to enter and that is put towards the INSURANCE in case a car falls on ya I guess but $2.00 for entertainment and sight seeing is worth it.
Did you swing a small magnet around slowly to listen for a click as the stud is attaching itself to the magnet?
