2001 Safari Fuel pump recommendations

Postby kennysmoke [OP] » September 18th 2017, 3:01am

Fuel pump finally gave up the ghost on my '01 Safari. What brands do you all like... I've tried various brands over the years with mixed results..

Ditto -- I went Delco. It's a big enough job that I didn't want to do it again due to crappy parts.

Get the non-robust one. The robust ones are for military and non-us based vehicles -- or so I was told by an AC delco rep.

I highly doubt you have a K53 RPO code. You could check your RPO codes on the passenger door but most GM vehicles with that RPO code were for export where gasoline is of questionable grades. Which ever pump you decide on get the GM OE. :2:

Thanks for the replies... I'm also ordering new tank straps. Is there anything else besides the fuel filter that I should change while doing the job?

A good visual check of the metal lines , especialy where the quick fittings are jointed .
