Hello all,
I think that it is finally time to replace the intake manifold gaskets on my Safari. I should've changed it probably 60,000 mi ago. Anywho, I am going to tackle this problem this weekend and I am armed with my Haynes manual and a pretty good knowledge of my engine and vehicle. I have scoured the forum in search for a post regarding the procedure but I can only find posts for CPI engines. My question: Has anyone done a gasket replacement on a Gen I TBI motor? Any tricks? Any tips? I plan to keep all of the ports plugged while I am cleaning the mating surfaces. The manifold bolts will be cleaned and I plan on changing the valve cover gaskets as well. I also plan on changing the oil once I am done and things are running.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I feel like this is going to be quite the task to accomplish.
