oil pressure gauge issues

Hello been hard at work getting my 2003 astro van fixed up.
Have a question my oil pressure gauge jumps around when I drive in town and I would like to fix this.
I have tried different weight oils no effect. Is it the gauge itself or something else?

Sounds like a possible loose wire or a bad ground.

My money is on the sending unit. Pull the doghouse, it's just to the left of the distributor. Mine went bad and did the same thing.

As Mark mentioned... most likely an intermittent wiring connection at sender. It's fairly common.
Next, could be the sender itself (as Big_Kid mentioned), also fairly common.
^^ Start with these two (assuming oil level is full) ... both have happened to me.

Could be any wiring connection along the way, or at the gauge too (much less common)

Finally (and hopefully not)... the readings could be accurate and telling the truth, but that would be another more serious issue. Low oil, dropped pickup.. etc. Again, hopefully not.

Definitely check the sender and wiring. On one of the vans I bought, they had worked on it and the wiring was rubbing against the sharp metal where the engine cover meets the body.
