Odd Problem

Ok odd problem here. Yesterday while i was merging into traffic i had to floor the van(idiot driver) and then slam on the brakes for a red light, problem was as i am coming to a stop the van starts running terriable. SES light comes on, its barely running i tap the gas it dies. Put it in park and it wont start back for about two or three tries< then it fires up but is idling REALLY high, like i had the pedal pushed down a little. Its running fine besides the high idle, the ses lights off and when i drive away it runs fine.

Stopped and bought some fuel injector cleaner just in case and drove it another 25 miles and it ran great. Today on the way home when i pull to a light it starts misfiring but not even close to a bad as previous day. Any ideas on whats the problem? Oh btw van has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil <all ac delco, and a new wix fuel filter. The fuel pump also delphi has about 24k on it and is roughly 1.5 yrs old

I cant say for sure.But it sure sounds like a dirty sticking injector.Fuel not atomizing correctly,droplets.Flooding the engine.It idling up to burn the gas in the intake,because the computer reading way to rich.Thats my best guess since I cant be there to play with it and see.

Sounds like a good place as any to start. See if there are any codes. Read and clear them if there are any. Drive the truck and see what continues to happen, reread codes.

Ok drove about 50 miles today with no problems. Had mechanic friend use a scan tool on it and there was no codes. I think the fuel injector cleaner was the fix, its been about 5000 miles since i have ran any so i think i got some dirt in the fuel injectors and the cleaner fixed it! I drive about 50 miles per day mon-fri so ill post if i have anymore problems.

I was going to suggest that perhaps the huge jog on the fuel tank dislodged some debris and was causing the problem....the fuel injector cleaner perhaps dissolved it

combo of flooded and dirty. have a friend follow you on the highway. put your foot to the floor and have your friends passenger take footage of what comes out of the tail pipe. post the vid. i would recomend intake medic regardless
