Coolant Drain Plugs

I'm flushing the coolant... Again... Lots of lessons learned the first time. I'm trying to find the drain plugs mentioned in many of the posts I've found like this one by Uncle Bob:

I've take pictures of what I think are them, just want to confirm before I start loosening things.

One picture is the passenger side right by the starter. The other is by the oil filter.ImageImage

Yuppers.

Be careful getting them loose - if they've never been pulled, they could be kinda stuck. Oh, and you might have to poke a wire or thin screwdriver in there to loosen up any chunks that may be blocking the drains if the cooling system wasn't maintained.

I have loosened mine so many times, that the ends started to get a bit round. Napa had replacements. Pipe thread..because you know....GM.
How many sensors, fuses or computers does a Bw4472 need? Zero.

Bingo... I didn't have a breaker bar handy and couldn't loosen them. I needed the van back today so I skipped it. I did flush it about 5 times with water. I plan to keep an eye on it and make sure it stays green. I replaced all the hoses as they didn't look too good and switched to the green stuff.

flushes are not as dire with standard green coolant. its typically rated for 5 year and 100k-150k miles

It all depends on how contaminated your system was before you flushed. Mine was bad. Still I find dregs of the old coolant despite a few flushes even with cleaner. So now I just plan once per year.
