Performance chips or other mods 98 Astro LS

Hi I was wanting to know if anyone could help me with some info on the use of performance chips or other simple mods for my 1998 Astro LS. The only thing I have done so far was a complete tune up and I installed a K & N air filter. The van runs great and burns clean. The van has the 4.3 V6 with the automatic transmission. The milage is around 18mpg. and the oil pressure is around 60lbs when fully warmed up. I have 160,502 miles on it. I bought it used. I made some mods to the front end to fix a small dent on the bumper and changed all the lights. Thanks in advance for any help. Cougar

Try OBD2 Tuner programs like EFI Live , or Tuner Cat ; HP Tuner to name a couple , with programs like those you can choose your own performance settings , they have a variety of settings to choose from and you change what you want , if you decide to change it later you can.

I believe what Phantom is referring to is tuner programs. You get the CD and a OBD2/USB cable with it, then you can plug your van into your laptop and reprogram your PCM anyway you want. Plus many of the programs you can save settings as say gasmizer or top fuel dragster, then at the click of the mouse you can reprogram the van to run in the mode you want.

Last time I was out at the track with my son the dyno trailer was out there. He spent a little over an hr in there and had 3 programs saved for his Ducati, a nice torque setting for the road course, a high speed for straight line and an everyday ride mode. Now in just a coupe mins he can tune his bike for the ride he's going on.
