Motor Dip Stick Routing

Motor Dip Stick Routing

Postby Slime [OP] » July 15th 2019, 11:35pm

So, how exactly is the dip stick supposed to route? I have the 4.3 on an engine stand. Took the manifold off, but it seems to want to go right in the way of the #4 plug and against the manifold. Also, does it bolt to the manifold mounting bolts?

That is correct. I would check and make sure you can get a spark plug socket on it before you tighten it down, #4 can be a real PITA to replace with that tube in the way. I sometimes tweak the tube a bit.

Wow...Thanks...I don't remember it being in the way like that, but it has been over 20 years since we took it apart. So, does the one bolt to the stud and the other to that smaller hole above the manifold?
