Advance Auto. Right fuel pump ??????

Advance Auto. Right fuel pump ??????

Postby tinydog [OP] » February 18th 2012, 2:01am

I ordered a new fuel pump for my 1998 chevy astro with throttle body injection from Advance Auto and all set to install this weekend but today a friend told me his brother had an astro several years back and when the fuel pump died he bought new from Advance and they gave him a pump that fit the tank but wrong pressure for the throttle body injection so now Im second guessing if what I have is right. They sent me a Delphi FG0068-11B1 If someone could verify this is the right pump I would feel much better, Thanks

Did you get 20% off......Advance Auto has a 20% off online orders going on til sometime in March. I got my wife's Caravan radiator for like $28 cheaper. Pretty sweet deal and I picked it up right at the store.

My research also says that's the correct one.

TBI Throttle Body Injection did not come from factory on a 98 astro ,,ever since at least as early as 96 it comes with CSFI which is
“Central Sequential Fuel Injection” so if your van is factory stock that Delphi number is correct ,, however if someone has swapped motors in your van and it now has a TBI injection system it would not be the right pump ,, TBI injection uses 9-14 psi fuel pressure and the newer CSFI uses 60 psi to start and about 58psi to run on

make sure which injection system you have first before you relace the pump

X2 what Phantom said. Throttle body injection looks a bit similar to a carburetor. Google images can help if you're not sure.
