I have a really good running 2001 Astro LT in Mesa Az. About 180K. Recently the engine light came on and the code P1345 appeared on the scanner. Crankshaft position, CKP- Camshaft position-CMP Correlation. The crank sensor was replaced. The trans sensor was also acting up causing the speedo to not work so it was also replaced. When cleared the code after a bit comes back and the engine light is back on.
Read a bad timing chain can cause a correlation problem between the crank and the cam causing the code. The engine runs extremely well. One would assume a wide enough variation between the cam and the crank would cause some performance and idle issues. It still gets great gas mileage and idles very smooth even with all the AC stuff on.
Is there any calibration needed or adjustments to the crank sensor? Has anyone had this problem before and it was something else besides the sensor? Any special places to look for other causes?. Trouble shooting?
