Which wrench to remove O2 sensor 94 Safari

Which wrench to remove O2 sensor 94 Safari

Postby limrick [OP] » May 20th 2012, 10:47pm

I have a 1994 Safari 2 wheel drive with a 3 wire O2 sensor ahead of the Cat.
It's really in a ......... tough spot to get a wrench on.
I need to buy the sensor wrench, but which wrench?

Do I get the sensor socket with offset 3/8 drive, a long extension through the doghouse opening or the flex head sensor wrench and sacrifice a lot of knuckle skin wrenching from below.

anyone done this and remember what they used?

TIA.

I have a 94 Safari. 7/8 inch long handled wrench from underneath. Mine is angled so the wrench goes on not easy but doable.

That's what I used on my Bravada, too. Works the best for that application, along with plenty of PB and bracing my legs against the front tire.

I use the offset & regular sockets on my '99, depending on which sensor.

Yeah, I used a wrench...not sure what size. Be careful, when I took mine off it was in there sense birth and it broke the bong thing out with it, had to weld it back in. I would soak it with WD-40 or PB Blaster.

Heat helps as well so run engine to heat it up before you try to remove it ,
