Help...my van is in a bad way right now. Let me start at the beginning. About two weeks ago I replaced the cap, rotor and coil. Everything thing has been just fine with an occasional bit of hesitation. Fast forward to today I was out driving everything was fine, I had just put $20 worth of Shell gas in it and about 20 minutes later I was driving and went to accelerate and the van lost all power and started to buck and then sounded like it was maybe running on 1 to 3 cylinders from the feel of it. I pulled off the roadway and tried to go up an almost non existent incline and the van couldn't do it, it just died. Right afterword i could get it running by keeping the throttle mashed to the floor and even then the engine would buck really hard. I tried shooting ether down the intake and the engine would turn over but it would die right back out. What can be wrong with this beast? I need her for work tomorrow so any help would be appreciated.
Oh yeah no SES light.

Do the basics:
1) check fuel
2) check spark
start with #1 and post up your reading from your fuel pressure guage

I'd try an EGR block-off plate. Your problem kinda sounds like how mine was running, and that's what fixed it. The EGR valve was sticking open and making it run like cat ****. Good luck!

Well I got it running. That POS Accel distributor cap and rotor destroyed itself. The rotor burned a hole through itself and the cap melted.

I am impressed thats some serious voltage. Welder spark to the plugs. No gap needed jumps straight to the piston.

Is that what Chevy calls the UHEI ignition system ? Hee hee. (Haven't heard of that one before.)
