Pesky No start problem

Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.

I have a 2000 Astro. It has always ran very well. The only problem I've ever had in 50,000 miles is the fuel pump. Now two days ago my wife drove it to work, came home fine and parked it. Ten we had the big storm here in CT. I went to start it the next morning and it wouldn't start. I wouldn't even attempt to start, it would just crank and crank.
The security light has always come on in this vehile. I reset it and it doesn't bother me. I noticed the light was on so I tried to reset and no matter what i did it wouldn't reset. It would just stay on solid, no blinking or anything.
I went to the junkyard and picked up another BCM. I did the 1/2 hour relearn for this new BCM and the security light went off. It still wouldn't start. This new bcm is a different number from the old one. I don't know if that makes a difference.

So now the security light is off, it cranks but won't start..it does run somewhat with starting fluid. I checked the fuel pressure and that's fine (as i said It's a new pump). It has spark, nice and strong.

is there any way to test the injector connector to see if the pcm is sending power to the injectors? I'm wondering if the new bcm can clear the security light but fail to send the correct password to the pcm for the injectors to function. Like i said the van was running really nice and strong before she parked it, never had any stalling issues or anything so I don;'t think the injectors would fail all of a sudden.

I would reinstall the orginal bcm. Make sure its dry and try again. If I recall corectly. The nubmers should match when your swapping BCM's. Just sounds like something is wet.

yeah i did that and it didn't work. When I removd the original bcm i opened it up and didn't see any sign of moisture what so ever didn't look like anything was burned or so. But even after reinstalling it the security light does not go away. It only goes away with the new bcm.

I'm almost sure it's the bcm is the problem. With the original bcm installed, the security light does not go away but at least now it starts and shuts off...as if the passlock is cutting it off. I'm going to try and locate one at the junk yard tomm and see how it goes.

problem solved. replaced with another bcm. No need to have chevy dealership reprogram replacement bcu just do the relearn process and it'll work
