SAFARI FIXED!

SAFARI FIXED!

Postby gmcvanman [OP] » December 3rd 2012, 7:52pm

The problem that caused me to have to get towed home the other night witch i thaught was my power steering pump, i got into my power steering i had to remove the upper half of my shroud and then i tested all the pulleys for movement and noticed that my idler was seized so i buttoned up power steering components , and replaced my idler,

This is why I replaced the belt, tensioner, AND idler pulley when I replaced my alternator. I could be 600 miles away from home or something and have that happen and it might as well be a total engine failure that broke you down because you can't drive it since that one belt drives EVERYTHING.

I got lucky when mine seized. It squealed like power steering until it warmed up, but it never threw the belt. I just happened to notice it one day before tackling the job.
