2000 Safari starts - then dies 2-3secs later

Postby 04chevyss [OP] » March 27th 2013, 8:30pm

I have a 2000 gmc safari. Last week the gauges started acting goofy, battery light is on, abs, air bag, ses, security light is staying lit.

But the van still ran fine.

Today it will start like normal and run for 2 seconds then shut off, like the computer is turning the injectors off.

So far,
Has 65psi of fuel pressure and 60 when running for 2 seconds.
Fuel pump and filter where replaced 2 months ago.
has great spark, even when it shuts down, it is still getting spark (spark tester)
New cap, rotor, plugs, wires, crank sensor and oil pressure sensor.
Tried swapping the maf sensor, didn't change a thing.
Checked for blown fuses, the only fuse that keeps blowing when you put a new one in is the air bag fuse.
I wired the resistor in for the passlock system and did the relearn procedure, on for 11min, off for 30sec, repeat 4 times.
No change.

The other thing is that my scan tool will not connect to the adl port. It has power where it should and ground, but will not connect.

I cleaned up all the grounds, checked the fuse block for corrosion, and cleaned all the battery cables. The wiring harness looks to be in good shape.

I know that there are a ton of posts about this problem, but none have the problem resolved.

PLEASE HELP

I replaced that 2 weeks ago, so it is new and there are no load draws on the system when the key is off.
