Tune up part #'s ?

Tune up part #'s ?

Postby rvbuilder2002 [OP] » April 20th 2009, 6:18am

Question from a newbee to the new site ( I was active occasionally on the old site a few years ago.

Everyone here has always been so helpful I figured someone could help me out with this...

I need to do a full tune up. I want to use all AC/Delco parts and from recommendations on this site I E-mailed GMPartsdirect for help with some part #'s. I was curious how there prices compared other online stores so I decided to do a bit of comparison shopping. I did find better prices at a couple of other stores but the problem I have run into is that they say some of the part #'s I was researching aren't the correct ones for my year Astro.
I e-mailed my VIN # to GMPartsdirect. Should I be confident that the #'s they gave me are correct?
This is what they sent me

10452458 Distributor cap
10452457 Distributor rotor
88984265 Spark plug wire kit; contains 6 plug wires and coil wire
12607234 Spark plug
6487532 PCV Valve

Does anyone know for sure if these #'s are correct for a 2000 with W code engine?

Thanks
Scott

Hi rvbuilder2002

Welcome to the Forum

The Cap and Rotor are correct, yes. If you want to check and make sure the rest is correct, you can head over here for a comparison:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

If you could add the Model (Astro-Safari) - Engine type "W" - A/C or not - 2Wd or AWD to your Signature that would help a great deal to better answer your questions, Thanks.
96-GMC Safari - Rwd - Original Transmission - Exhaust - Air Cared - 3.73 Limited Slip Rear End - Motor Replaced - 91 octane (Chevron) for the last 14 years - MFI Upgrade - 640,000 Kilometers.
