i got a 88 s10 cheap is the oil pan the same as my 88 safari or do i have to swap it

Did the s10 come with a 4.3L V6? I know they come with the 2.8Ls, those are 60* blocks and would not be compatible.
Diagnose 1st, never be a parts changer!

Yes, S10s came with 4.3L V6's, starting in 1987.

I am pretty sure that the oil pans are different, but with GM it is hard to tell. Your best bet is to take a picture of each and compare.

FWIW............I had a '91 4.3L TBI S10 pick-up. The oil capacity was the same as my current Astro Van. :D

i just wondered so i could get a gasket set before i got started i just got the truck home so i will scope it out it is a 4.3 any heads up on anything different would be appreciated thanks

Well, I would think that it would be easy to ask the parts counter person if the oil pan gaskets are the same set, or at least compare the two before you buy one!

i took a motor from a 1990 s10 rebuilt it and put it in my van everything is exact on both
95 Astro 5.3L RWD 3/3 drop
88 Silverado 5.3L 2wd 4/6 drop
03 Suburban 5.3L 2wd 3/5 drop
