po1345 code new distributor

po1345 code new distributor

Postby squitch [OP] » November 4th 2009, 1:44am

I just installed a new accel ignition kit on my 2000 LS . billet distributor, coil wires. made for the 4.3 astro with new hall effect switch.
old distributor was worn.
now im getting po1345 code and lots of pinging.
from what ive read , a scan tool is needed to zero out the new distributor or timing . or sync the cam sensor and crank sensor.
can anyone shed some light on how this is done?
and where to get it done.

What kind of hold-down bracket are you using for the distributor? Pics are best.

Have you driven the van yet? Depending on what your definition of a smooth idle is, I suppose you could have somewhat of a smooth idle but you would have no power.

Which hold-down bracket are you using? Original or any aftermarket one, it does make a difference in the ease of timing.

Are you using a timing light?

Which distributor did you get? The accel distributor I have can be used with the factory hold down bracket.
