Engine Dry start help?

Engine Dry start help?

Postby Dan411 [OP] » April 3rd 2015, 2:32am

I have a 1997 GMC Safari 4.3 L.With 130,000 miles .
I'm starting to hear a dry start in the mornings when I start my van.Slight knocking sounds like from the Mains.I don't hear any mains rattling. The engine only knocks for about a minute then runs fine.To me it sounds like a dry start.
It there any kind of oil I can buy to help on dry starts?Years ago I would use slick 50 or Motor Honey But,I was wondering if there's something better to buy?

Are these engines known for dry starts ?I had a 1998 Buick Road master with the V-tech engine that did the same thing as dry starts in the mornings.

This only happens in the mornings. After that the van will start up and run fine all day long until the next morning dry start again. :driving:
