Leaking small oil

So today I decided to take "Air Force One" (1994 GMC Safari) for a ride and came to notice that when I started to drive it in the freeway, the car began to kinda do a small vibrate here and there. Out of nowhere on the way back I notice that the car was making the vibrations here and there, paying close attention it turns out that I can actually feel the vibration on the pedal. I got home and checked under and saw the bottom throwing a bit of steamy white smoke (not a lot) and saw that the flat part of the bottom of the car was kinda leaking oil. I let it cool down, check the oil level and are normal. Check the transmission fluids and it appears to be fine. When I accelerate slowly the car begins to run smoothly and when I do accelerate to run it does stalls a bit. What can it be problem? Main gasket in the engine? Transmission gasket?

I'd figure out where the oil was coming first. Clean everything under there really well at the coin op car wash. Then find that leak source. Could be just about anywhere and the oil travels downward, eventually ending up at the lowest point. So if you check it early after you clean it, you have a little better chance of finding the leak.

If the white steamy is indeed water, as you're guessing, that can only come from one system. Does your radiator juice appear oily? Does your motor oil, trans fluid or power steering fluid seem milky?

Seems that somewhere, some of that coolant is getting to somewhere it's not supposed to be. Best case would be it's simply overflowing at the reservoir and reaching something hot. Worst case is, well it's worse.

Turns out that some of the screws were loose and we tighten up, now everything went well for a day and saw that it is currently leaking again. I am believeing that is it the main seal between the transmission and motor.

Oil is pretty cheap, especially in comparison to what it takes to replace the rear main seal.

As long as it only takes one or 2 qts between oil changes, I wouldn't consider giving it a thought.

Stay away from "stop leak" products ! (unless you are thinking of replacing or rebuilding the motor,

or selling the truck.)
