Engine Swap 2000 S-10 to 1988 Astro

My work truck, 1988 Astro, has two burnt valves and a slipping trans. I have a 2000 S-10 rollover with 58,000 miles I can get cheap, the motor runs and the trans works.

How easy is the swap, and do you have to replace the wiring harness?

Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

No I do not want to put a V-8 in it, gas here is $4.02 a gallon 87 octane.

Hi Craig,
Look at the old site postings.I would think the amount of work would be about the same as a V8 conversion.We have seen these get about the same gas mileage over and over again with a number of people.87 gas is no problem either.In fact there is a member who gets up to 22 gal per mile on his V8 Astro.So when you do your research on the old site,look at the V8 conversions too.

Need a lil more info what size motors in you s10 and tranny info?
And Gary he said he wants to go cheap in another words he wants to use the stuff he has its cheaper than a v8 conversion which is Not cheap! But they are fun.....

Chops man, a V8 conversion can be cheaper in the long run.I all depends on WHO is managing the costs.
