All of sudden rough idling and accelleration.

All of sudden rough idling and accelleration.

Postby dnwong [OP] » August 23rd 2015, 11:01pm

My van has been sitting around for more than a month and was running fine previously. I started recently and the idle is really rough and the can is struggling to accelerate. The engine feels like it is shaking when I try to accelerate. What happen and how can I diagnose this problem. Here is a video.

If it has a MAF, I'd clean that first as it's going to give you problems with idle and acceleration. Sitting for a month could have allowed corrosion to form on it.
A temporary fix usually becomes a permanent solution, therefore it does not exist.

If you'll put the year model of your van in your profile, you'll get more answers that apply to your engine.

Or a wire cross firing. Spray it with water in the dark. I can hear spark going somewhere it shouldn't be.
