brake pad rattling?? fix??

Re: brake pad rattling?? fix??

Postby deafman » December 10th 2016, 2:09am

I'm new
I just bought an 2002 LS RWD that didn't have the outside pads staked like the video.
Fixed that with a little hammer.
NOW I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS.
And they may be a stupid ones.
But it looks like a good place to put it.
My guide pins are worn only where the outside pads were hitting them.
The rest of the pin is perfect.
So I don't need to replace the pins right ?
As I think that the inner pad is the only one that needs to freely slide on the pin ?

I have always glued the pads to the caliper and piston with high heat silicone. The red permatex kind. Just be neat with it and not slop it all over the place..

This mobile version of the site. The time of last post is such a light grey against a white background that you cant really see it right in some lighting. Also I am finding that super years old threads can be right in the front ahead of todays new threads??? All other forums dont do that. Things are in order of date. 2016 would be like on page 25. Anyways will be getting my new glasses in a few weeks so that will make a difference too.

Upon looking further I had replied to this thread 10 years ago as well when it was current.
