brake issue

brake issue

Postby Ghetto Thrasher [OP] » December 13th 2010, 4:58am

Once in a while my brake pedal will rattle. This happens when I forget to wait til the anti-lock light turns on to make sure it works. But lately when my brakes rattle my car will start to steer to right by force. I know i'm having a brake problem but i need to know specifically what's going on.

Sounds scarey to me. Anything that goes bump in the night with the brake system is cause for immediate concern, much like a flickering "Bud low" light will cause great panic. Not having much luck with ABS myself,
(none of my trucks' ABS is still functional, and the fact that they are '93's) leaves you and me in the dust waiting on others to chime in. Good luck. At least I can bump you back to the top.

Your LF rotor is warped.
Constant pressure on the RF rotor vs 50%pressure on the LF=pull to the right when braking.

Replace both front rotors and make sure the lf caliper is not seized/binding(that would have caused the overheating/warpage in the first place.)

I would agree with the other two posts. It is not a specific problem where one part can be replaced. I would recommend replacing the rubber lines as well. The safety factor concerns me, you can go to a brake shop that gives free inspections and find out if there is an immediate danger. I have had mixed luck going that route.
