ABS light and Brake light go on - 2002 Astro AWD

Postby romeroom [OP] » April 19th 2017, 1:20am

Yesterday the van's ABS light and red Break dash light have started to come on

Here are some details:

1. The go on, not necessarily during the braking procedure; just going down the road will trigger it.

2. After van sits for a while, the lights are off during start-up and going down the road.

3. I performed some hard sudden braking while the ABS/Brake dash lights were off and it did not reproduce the problem.

4. The reservoir is full. However, I noticed the brake fluid is extremely dark. (139k miles on the van.)

Any suggestions were to begin?

Yeah, that.
Remember to...
1] replace the bolts once they're off.
2] use flux when soldering joints
3] clean with alcohol when done
4] use electronic safe sealant on the gasket
