Brake line fitting size 2005 astro

Postby Raf123 [OP] » April 9th 2020, 2:27am

Hello everyone,

I did not find that information here so I hope someone will be able to help.

I am looking to buy flexi hoses for my van and read online that there are different thread sizes. I am guessing they are all SAE but I would like a confirmation prior to ordering.

3/8-24 for 3/16'' lines
7/16-24 for 1/4'' lines
Or
10 x 1.0mm for 3/16'' lines
12 x 1.0 mm for 1/4'' lines

I don't want to mix those up.

Thanks for your help

SAE
The fittings on the ABS are the oddballs on our trucks. IIRC I had to reuse a couple. I cut those lines short and took them off w/ a six point deep well socket.

edit- I see you have an '05, mine are '93 '97 and '02. I shouldn't think they changed on the gen 3 but when I look at my tool box needing both SAE and Metric on the same truck you never know.

Just order the proper hoses for your vehicle. If you are redoing the hard lines, you can reuse the fittings, or buy them new they are all available at LAPS or online. The ABS ones are an oddball like the WB said but they are available virtually everywhere. Oreilly as an example has them for ~$1.50 each.

Trolls take away from productive work, best to starve the troll of attention by ignoring it and going about your business.

Alright, thanks so much guys! Hopefully I won't need to redo the hardlines as well.

Regular brake line nuts are 7/16-24
ABS nuts are ½-20

I got the ones I needed that same day at NAPA and bought multi-packs on Amazon.
