Hydro or ?

Hydro or ?

Postby tungtide [OP] » October 4th 2020, 4:11pm

My 2002 and just took me on a 5 k mile trip. Problem free. When I got home the brakes acted up. Mostly ok, but occasionally no power. After reading a bit I’m thinking hydro boost? Or master cylinder. Can’t see a vacuum line, but one post said maybe clogged. Vacuum line. It’s like the power just goes out, then returns. I tried pumping brakes 6 times, then leave foot lightly on pedal. Start engine and the pedal kicks back (slightly)

I once had the belt come partially off on my 95 (which has the belt routing the same as gen 1). It caused intermittent P/S issues.

Does it affect the steering at all or just the brakes?

Just the brakes. And only once so far. I’ll check the belts, never even thought of that.
