Mexico?

Mexico?

Postby LAZ 1 [OP] » September 22nd 2018, 4:20pm

Welllll ...
the cold, wet, dark, dingy, dreary, COLD, WET, MONSOON SEASON is almost here in the Pacific North West. Time for all sensible Snoburds to start thinking about migrating South. AGAIN!
After two previous GREAT Winters in Mexico, first one exploring around in.my 99 SAFARI AWD MICRO MOTORHOME, and e second one with the motorhome parked the entire Winter in a vacant lot ( water, power, sweet for $100/ month), my third trip will be a bit different.

My brother retired there, and lives in Mexico full time. But this Winter he plans to spend in Europe. Which leaves his beautiful little one bedroom apartment vacant. AND HE GAVE ME THE KEYS!! So, almost time to head South for another Mexican Winter.

Any one else planning on Mexico?
If you are near LAKE CHAPALA feel free to stop by for a visit.
Life is good,

Sounds like a heck of an opportunity. We will be doing another rip around Baja, but likely wont make it to the mainland. Good luck on your trip.

I spent six weeks in the Baja on a motorcycle, and enjoyed it tremendously. Always wanted to return in a camperised AWD van, to explore more if the East coast remote shore line.

My AWD SAFARI MICRO MOTORHOME was actually designed with a Winter in Baja as the objective, but on the way I stopped by Lake Chapala for Christmas with my brother and his wife. They promised me a traditional Ukrainian supper. After two days visiting with them, I fell in love with the location, so I stayed there all Winter instead of going to the Baja.

I might visit the Baja again next trip, but will probably come in on the ferry at the North end. TOTANAKA RV park there was the nicest RV park I saw in Mexico.

Who knows ... maybe we might bump into each other.

Heading to the east coast is definitely in our game plan as well. Puerto Agua Verde is a place we wished we had more time last trip to make it out to, but didn't. So we will definitely head that direction. Perhaps head south from there to La Paz area. We both really liked that place. And there were a few places south of that we wanted to check out. 2 weeks just isn't enough to do any of it any justice.
