Ladders question?

Ladders question?

Postby Quelany [OP] » September 16th 2020, 7:03am

This may seem simple but I would like to know what type of ladder people use to get on top of their trailer. I have used a regular step ladder but it is a pain and kind of unsteady . I thought about an extension ladder but will the edge of the roof line support that kind of weight. I am in the process of finding a new trailer and I want easier access to the roof. A lot of the trailers I like don't have a ladder available as an option ,but I would hate to eliminate them for lack of a ladder. Chime in with what you use please.

If you'll have the trailer a while and use the ladder often, I would install one on the side or back. I've used an extension ladder to get on top, unless the edge has one of those built-in mini gutters. Most of your weight on a tall ladder will be straight down as long as your pitch is right.
