Thx. We appreciate it. Been getting ready for the blow and rain since Wednesday. Let you know what happened when it's all over...

Atlantic Beach got it pretty good, and Hatteras Island looks pretty well engulfed on the wx map. We should be feeling the wind and rain sometime tomorrow morning (Sunday).

This is the closest I have been a hurricane, it was this summer in Thailand. The hurricane "eye" was about 300 km north from our house. And when I looked out the window and saw this, I only wished that the roof would remain on. But when I went out on the porch, I noticed that there was not so much wind, it's just that the trees are kind of elastic and bend easy.
It was not as bad as it looks.

Storm has gone to Canada. It made landfall just to the south of us at Little Egg Inlet. However it was downgraded to a H 1 cat, and only gave us a lot of surge damage. There was a lot of rain, and we got 50-60 mph winds.

I'd say South Jersey got off easy, North Jersey and further up got the worst part of the storm, even though it had been downgraded to a TS by then.

For all intent and purposes, life is back to near normal for us. Time to mop up and take down the storm blinds.
