here is what I have for wheels-they are from a 99 Safari or Astro I added the center caps from a 80's 2 wheel drive truck rally wheel then added spinners from the internet. they are 15 x7. They are on my 89 Astro RS.

Nice tough looking Van ( probably more than just 'looks' ) and a swell choice for a wheel/tire combo.
Thanks from all of us for the Lift, tires, sheet metal wars, etc descriptions.

This thread is exactly what I’m looking for .

Im in the market for a wheelset after installing a journeys 3-5” lift , however I was wondering how much offset I can get away with before rubbing on the slider.

I’m now thinking of maybe cutting the silliest in half so the top half slides but the bottom half would fold outward, something like a pickup tailgate would.

I like Hillbent's post. It has the picture for a visual, the wheel/tire size for reference, and the problem he ran into along with the fact that it still works. Someone will see that and it will be useful in their build. That's the whole point of this thread.

And that Someone is me!!

My first time getting a wheelset for any car/truck. I needed to know how much offset I can get before coming in contact with the slide door.

Awesome thread , duck the haters

See here for my fitment with 235/70/16s on stock wheels. This is a 29" OD tire and I have about 1.5" clearance for the slider. Seems like stock offset would be what you'd want (whatever that is), or just a hair more. This is with a 2" lift.

The 29" OD is all I'd try to run without cutting anything, and it's also all I'd want with the stock gearing. These things have enough trouble getting down the road as it is!
